Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Islamabad to Chilas
Begin the drive up the Karakoram Highway via Besham to Chilas, following the Indus gorge. Overnight in Chilas.
Day 2 — Chilas to Skardu
Drive along the Indus valley to Skardu, with grand mountain scenery all the way. Check in and relax.
Day 3 — Skardu Lakes
Spend the day at Shangrila and the Kachura lakes, with photos and optional boating.
Day 4 — Deosai & Sheosar Lake
Full-day excursion onto the Deosai plateau, the second-highest plateau in the world, to the beautiful Sheosar Lake.
Day 5 — Cold Desert & Shigar
Explore the Katpana cold desert and the restored Shigar Fort, with time in Skardu bazaar.
Day 6 — Skardu to Chilas
Begin the return drive, retracing the Indus valley to Chilas for the night.
Day 7 — Chilas to Islamabad
Complete the scenic drive down the Karakoram Highway back to Islamabad.
