Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Islamabad to Chilas
Begin the journey up the Karakoram Highway via Besham to Chilas, following the Indus through deep gorges. Overnight in Chilas.
Day 2 — Chilas to Hunza
Continue along the KKH past the Nanga Parbat viewpoint and the junction of three mountain ranges, reaching Hunza by evening with Rakaposhi views.
Day 3 — Central Hunza & Forts
Explore Karimabad, the Baltit and Altit forts and the bazaar, ending with a sunset from Eagle’s Nest.
Day 4 — Attabad Lake & Passu
Visit the turquoise Attabad Lake, the Hussaini suspension bridge and the iconic Passu Cones in upper Hunza.
Day 5 — Khunjerab Pass
Drive up to Khunjerab Pass (4,693m) on the Pakistan-China border, then return to Hunza for the night.
Day 6 — Return to Islamabad
Begin the long, scenic return drive down the Karakoram Highway to Islamabad.
